Kenneth A. Wilkinson

October 8, 1936 — June 27, 2016

Kenneth A. Wilkinson, 79, of Topeka, passed away Monday June 27, 2016. He was born October 8, 1936 in Kinney, Nebraska, the son of Ralph Owen and Irene (Throop) Wilkinson.

He attended Daly City High School in San Francisco, graduated from Concordia Teacher's College in Nebraska and Central Baptist Theological Seminary with his master's degree.

Kenneth was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired Baptist minister.

In the 1980's he owned and operated two BBQ restaurants in Ottawa, Kansas and Lincoln, Nebraska as well as many other business endeavors.

In 1961 he married Lorraine Johnson. She preceded him in death in 1967. Later that year he married Patria Ann Jorgensen. She preceded him in death in May 2016. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Ray Kuhn and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children: Kenneth R. Wilkinson of Rossville, Geneva Diamond of Columbia, GA, Ralph Wilkinson of Topeka and Lisa Fillmore of Osage City, KS; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and his sister, Helen in California.

Kenneth enjoyed making jewelry, woodworking, fishing, restoring old cars and spending time with his wife.

Kenneth was cremated. A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Snyder's Cabin, Gage Park.
