Dennis Michael Hendrix, 49, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021.
He was born June 9, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Ricky Hendrix and Peggy (Hallmark) Kincade.
Dennis graduated from Topeka High School in 1990.
Dennis worked in the automotive industry for approximately 30 years.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Topeka.
Dennis married Kay Hendrix on February 17, 2018 in Topeka, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; his children, Brooke Hendrix, Kylee Hendrix and his step-son, Caleb Appel all of Topeka; his mother, Peggy (Bill) Kincade of Topeka; his siblings, Susan Childers of Wakarusa, Mary Hicks of Willard, MO, Jason (Becky) Kincade of Topeka, Timothy (Jaleesa) Hendrix of Holden, MO and Derrick Hendrix of Kansas City, MO; his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Heavener of Raytown, MO and a host of aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky; his paternal grandfather, Harrol Heavener; his maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother, Dennis Hallmark and Gladys Kincade and his two step-brothers, Chris and Jimmy Kincade.
Dennis enjoyed working on automobiles. He especially loved his 1986 Chevy truck. He was an avid sports fan. He cheered on the Chiefs and Royals and watched KU Basketball. Billiards was also a favorite pastime. In his youth he especially liked playing baseball. He also enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with his family and friends.
Honoring Dennis's request cremation is planned. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 17, 2021 at Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66610. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service time.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage Blvd #3380, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
