Carol Lenore Dikeman, 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
She was born January 8, 1936, in Chappell, Nebraska, the daughter of Daniel Edward and Lenore (Gilbert) O'Connor. She graduated from Syracuse (KS) High School in 1953.
Carol married Larry Lamar Dikeman on August 9, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003, her brother Dr. John O'Connor in 2002 and her son Steve in 2018. Survivors include her children, Jeff Dikeman (Shannon) of Auburn, KS; Diane Johnson (Bob) of Overland Park, KS, and Christel Dikeman (wife of Steve) of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren Stephanie Peterson (Brian) of Manhattan, KS, Christina Dikeman of Parker, CO, Dr. Mackenzie Dikeman of Wichita, KS, Eric Dikeman (Kelsey) of Littleton, CO, and Carlie Johnson of North Hollywood, CA; great-grandchildren Grayson and Beckham of Manhattan, KS, and Turner of Parker, CO; step-great-grandchildren Judah and Beau.
Carol enjoyed quilting, sewing, other arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to read and to swim.
There will be a private family gathering at a future time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI Kansas (National Alliance on Mental Health), 1801 SW Wanamaker Rd, Unit G 6 Box 164, Topeka, KS 66604 or the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
