Mabel "Jeannie" Jellison, 82, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
She was born January 7, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Franklin and Elizabeth Mary (Waters) Thompson. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School.
She was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Topeka.
Jeannie married Wayne "Jelly" Jellison on December 21, 1957 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1997. Survivors include four children, Kenneth (Tammy) Jellison, Michelle Jellison, Cherie Jellison and Kelly Jellison all of Topeka; five grandchildren, William Andrews, Heaven Andrews, Kendra Jellison, Alessandra Nabb and Taryn Jellison; and four great-grandchildren, Regan Andrews, Paisleigh, Kynnleigh and Axel Masters.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Jellison; her parents; two sisters, Barbara Shumate and Geneva Tyra; and three brothers, Charles Thompson, Jr., Virgil "Bud" Thompson and Chester Thompson.
Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, flower gardening, her pets, playing BINGO, card games, reading and traveling.
A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022 with the family receiving friends until 3:30 p.m. at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia, Topeka, Kansas 66605. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
