Richard Robert “Bob” Frisby, 80, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023.

He was born December 27, 1942 in Clay Center, Kansas the son of Richard Thomas and Betty Irene (Grover) Frisby. He was a 1960 graduate of Abilene High School, Abilene, KS.

Bob began his employment as a Grocery Store Manager for Safeway Grocery Store and later went to work for Fleming Foods as a Retail Inventory Management Specialist until retiring. After retirement he worked part-time for Proctor and Gamble and volunteered for Stormont-Vail Hospital.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Bob married Glenda J. Coots on July 15, 1967 in Wichita, KS. She survives in Topeka. Other survivors include two children, Michelle Hulsether of Topeka and Rick (Casey) Frisby of Topeka; six grandchildren, David (Rachel) Hulsether, Brooke (Kyle) Kelly, Dylan (Breanna) Hulsether, Campbell (Conner) McGehee, Camryn Frisby and Creighton Frisby; three great-grandchildren, Preston and Khloe Hulsether and Hudson Kelly; his sister, Patricia (Ed) House of Maumelle, AR; and his canine companion, Willy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob loved his family, had a huge heart, possessed a unique sense of humor, was ornery, had an impeccable memory, was a good listener and had an open door for support. He enjoyed dancing, music, golfing, dabbled in woodworking, outdoor cooking and was an avid K-STATE fan attending numerous football and basketball games.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Mt. Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604. Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.

A private graveside service will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
