In Memory Of
Brody Alan Tyner

Brody Alan Tyner, 11, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born July 31, 2012, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Shannon L. (Bayless) Taylor and Matt Taylor, who chose to be a loving father to Brody.

Brody was a student at Farley Elementary School.

Survivors include his mother, Shannon Taylor and her husband, Matt of Topeka; his two sisters, Brynleigh and Brielle Taylor; his maternal grandparents, Darrell and Sue Bayless of Topeka; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Wendy Taylor of Elkland, MO and Karen and John Wilson of Topeka; his maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Dolores Bayless of Burlingame, KS; his paternal great-grandmother, Joyce McCoy of Elkland MO; his maternal aunt, Mandy (Mark) Patek of Topeka; his maternal uncle, Keith (Chelsea) Bayless of Basehor, KS; his maternal cousins, Taryn and Taylor Patek and Finleigh Bayless; paternal aunts, Katherine Wilson of Topeka; paternal uncles, Brandon Wilson of Topeka, Rob Taylor of Springfield, MO and Nick Taylor of Springfield, MO; paternal cousin, Braxton Wilson; and other extended family members, friends and care givers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Wendal and Carolyn Arnold; his paternal great-grandparents, Cloyd and Gloria Carpenter; his paternal great-grandmother, Mary Olsen; and several great-aunts and uncles.

Brody was very loved and brought joy to his family and all that knew him. He was absolutely adored by his sisters, Brynleigh and Brielle as well as his cousins who were so proud to be his cousins. Brody touched so many lives without even knowing it and taught many life lessons such as acceptance, perseverance, and unconditional love. He was such a fighter and fought fiercely up until the time his little body would no longer let him keep fighting. He was so incredibly loved by his family and caregivers. If love alone could have saved Brody, he would have lived forever but he was called home for reasons we will never understand. Though we may never understand why, the one thing we know is that one day we will all be reunited with Brody.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the ceremony.
