Deborah Kay Love, 63, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023.
She was born February 29, 1960, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Allen and Randalin (Hohmann) Bargdill. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Kansas State University, and a Master's Degree in Teaching from The University of Saint Mary.
Deborah was a dedicated teacher for over 25 years. She worked in the Auburn-Washburn and Seaman school districts. Deb retired from Northern Hills Elementary in 2023.
Deborah married Robert Eugene Love on August 15, 1992 in Topeka, Kansas.
Survivors include her husband Robert E. Love, daughters, Carly Love and her fiancé Zac Watson, Jenna and her husband Joseph Lawton, step-daughter, Amber Love, grandchildren, Nicole, Jacob, Emma, and Michael Brewster, Christian Knight, Mac Watson, future grandbabies, Jaksen Lawton (October 2023), and Baby Girl Watson (January 2024), a brother, Gary and his wife MaryAnn Bargdill, a sister, Rebecca and her husband Phil Fortney, 15 nieces and nephews, and 25 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Roger and Barbara Love, her brother-in-law, Roger Love Jr. and her sister-in-law, Vickie Love.
Deborah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a passion for teaching and an eye for creativity. Deb enjoyed decorating for the holidays, being outdoors, traveling, eating tacos, playing card games at family gatherings, and a good cold one while cheering for her Kansas State Wildcats or socializing with friends.
Honoring her wishes, a memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday August 18, 2023, at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday August 17, 2023 at the Mount Hope Chapel.
Deborah's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
