1949 - 2023

Cynthia Elaine "Cindy" Ronnekamp, 73, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023.

She was born August 24, 1949, in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Raymond Loren and Lenora May (Komrofske) Ronnekamp.

She attended First Lutheran Church in Topeka.

Cindy never married but lived with her brother, Loren L. Ronnekamp for all their lives. They resided in Greeley, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada until moving to Topeka and later moving into Plaza West Care Center in Topeka until Loren’s passing on November 2, 2014. They made a great team.

Survivors include her nieces, Melanee D. Allison (Orie) of Wakarusa and Karen Clark (Ivan) of Des Moines; and her great-nephew, Justin Allison of Wakarusa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dale Laverne Ronnekamp, Loren Laverne Ronnekamp and Roger Lee; her sister, Donna Mueller; her nephew, Jeff Mueller; and her niece, Lisa Mueller.

Cindy was a caring individual. On many occasions, she would accompany handicapped children on school buses to various locations. In her earlier years, she owned her own horse and enjoyed riding. She loved to cross stitch and crocheted many afghans. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Duke, visiting her nephew, Jeff in Hawaii, playing games, completing puzzles, taking care of people and preparing meals for her neighbors in need. Cindy also had a “sweet tooth”.

Cremation is planned. A private memorial ceremony will be at a later date. Cindy will be buried at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte, Nebraska where a small graveside service will be held. Dove Cremations and Funerals in Topeka is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
