Durant R. Redmond

Durant R. "Buddy" Redmond, 39, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023. He was born November 19, 1983 in Topeka, the son of Brent Redmond and Marcia Banks.

Buddy graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and earned an Associate Degree in Welding from Washburn Tech. He was employed by Lexington Park. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and his family was very important to him. Buddy was funny, outgoing, had a great smile, and his laugh was contagious.

Survivors include one son, Vincent "Vince" Redmond of Topeka, one daughter, Kamilla Redmond of Topeka, his siblings, Kamae Woodard of Topeka, Andreas Braxton of Topeka, Lucas Braxton of Topeka, Dontae Redmond of Denver, Colorado and Brittany Redmond of Topeka, his maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Marcia Banks of Topeka, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Buddy's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
