In Memory Of
Kelly Marie Caton
1989 - 2023

Kelly Marie Caton was born on April 10, 1989 at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota and she passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at her home in Topeka, Kansas. She was a graduate of Washburn Rural High School in 2007 and also attended Washburn University.

Kelly worked for Dollar General store on Southeast 6th Avenue in Topeka.

She is survived by her father Daniel Caton of Topeka and her mother Patsy Caton (Richard Bowman) of Lawrence. She is also survived by her sister Tara Wedge of Lawrence, brother Daniel Jr. (Julia) of Topeka, sister Heather of Topeka and brother Kyle of Lawrence and maternal grandfather, Paul Juhala. She also has six nephews, Jonah, Noah and Gabriel Painter all of Lawrence, Miles and Preston Caton of Topeka and Christian Bennett of Topeka. She has one niece Kristen of Topeka. She also enjoyed a special relationship with her Aunt Annette Howell and Uncle Jim in California, Uncle Wayne Juhala and Aunt Jesse of Michigan and Uncle Douglas Caton of Ohio; and cousins, Jessica Howell and Alex Juhala. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Clara Vandergrift and paternal grandparents, Dale G. and Betty M. Caton.

Kelly was an avid sports fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals and a fan of professional wrestling. Kelly loved to do artwork and crafts that her family and friends enjoyed and have displayed in their homes. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and many people proudly wear those items that she made. Kelly was a person that would light up a room with laughter and bring a smile to everyone around her. Kelly was not afraid of doing new things and learned to do many things that others would shy away from. While Kelly didn’t have any children and never married, she enjoyed being with her niece and nephews as much as she could. She used to refer to her cats as her children and spoil then with attention to no end. Kelly was a person that was always helping other people and loved doing things for people. Her passing leaves a void in everyone’s heart that knew her and people will feel the loss in our hearts. Kelly will be loved more than she ever knew in everyone who knew her. May she find the love and peace she deserves in heaven as heaven will gain from her presence there.

Cremation is planned. A private family will gathering will be at a later date. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Cat Association, 1719 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604.
