Vicki D. Phillips, 81, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at an Olathe, Kansas hospital. She was born September 8, 1942 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Charles G. and Mattie L. (Seale) Muck. She was raised and adopted by James M. and Mattie Z. Peddycord.

Vicki graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas. She was employed by Rice Food Markets for many years before retiring.

Vicki married Gayle R. Phillips in 1962. They later divorced.

Vicki was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Joyce Muck Pylate, her brother, David LaRue (Ava) Muck and two nephews, Dewey B. Merryman and James C. Muck.

Survivors include children, Carra (Tim) Merrill of Gardner, Kansas, two grandchildren, Bryan Merrill and Lauren (Bryan) Averill, two great-grandchildren, Brendyn and Brantley. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, David (Cole) Muck, Jr., Martha Muck (Chester) Loge, Charles Lozano, Tracy Shipley, Russell (Lisa) Muck, Geoffrey (Paula) Muck, Tina Muck, John (Susan) Muck, Mary (Allan) Muck, Aaron (Robin) Muck and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving is her forever fiancé, William Fisher and extended family and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation of Wellsville Health and Rehab for the care that they gave Vicki.

A private Celebration of Vicki's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
