Jim D. Timmons, 82, of Auburn, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024.

He was born September 14, 1941, in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Louis and Ruth (Carter) Timmons.

Jim was employed by Hagman’s Tobacco Company for many years, retiring in 1996.

Mr. Timmons was a past member of the Auburn Lions and the Auburn Helping Hands. He was a member of the Auburn Christian Church.

Jim married Laura Sedlacek on March 14, 1964 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives, along with Robert D. Timmons (Kim) of Auburn, David Timmons of Topeka, and LaDonna Munoz (Mike) of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild Adam Timmons; siblings Jack and Larry Timmons and Joan Doll.

Jim enjoyed playing cards, anything Kansas State sports related, and walking. He liked watching old westerns and listening to old country music – especially George Jones. He enjoyed anything his grandchildren did, in particular attending their sporting events.

Jim was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13th at Auburn Christian Church, 1351 North Washington Street in Auburn, Kansas. The family will receive friends for an hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at a future date at the Auburn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Christian Church.
