Abbie J. Hunsberger-Finney, 70, of Topeka, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born July 2, 1947, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of John and Sarah (Evans) Robins.
Abbie attended Highland Park High School and later became the first female licensed barber in Sterling, Illinois. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, gardening, traveling and, shopping.
On April 19th, 1993, Abbie married Clarence (Pete) C. Finney. He preceded her in death on May 5th, 2016.
Survivors include her children; Sarah K. (Dustin) Hudson, Eric D. (Katie) Hunsberger, and Marcia L. (Christopher) Carroll Richards; sister, Judy Jewell; and grandchildren, Nicholas (Keri) Richards, Moriah Richards, Jett Durante, Justice Durante, Kyler Hunsberger, Dylan Hudson, and Dawson Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel Robins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606, where the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with Abbie's future memorial placement once her son is home, who is on active duty and currently deployed overseas.
