Alan Michael Lee

October 23, 1963 — May 14, 2024

Alan "Mike" Michael Lee, 60, of Topeka, passed away on the night of May 14, 2024 at Midland Care Hospice House due to metastatic lung cancer. He was a gift born premature at only two pounds, fourteen ounces on October 23, 1963 to Claude LaRue Lee and Frances Manon Lee in Wichita, Kansas. Mike worked as a Quality Control Line Operator for Steelcase while living in Hudsonville, Michigan and dedicated himself to the full time care of his parents from 2009 until the end of his life. Mike lived in Topeka, Kansas for that joyful time.

He was a 3rd degree mason in the Freemasons and enjoyed membership with the Shriners, alongside his father and fellow member Claude Lee, as well as a long line of men on his mother's side. He was also very active as part of his World of Warcraft guild, Order of the Blinkdragon, on the Stormrage server. He's been close friends with several members since 2014, including Stardog, Mossita, Huggle, and Sassylady. He also became very accomplished in online gaming on Diablo III and Diablo IV leaderboards, and enjoyed spending time on several Minecraft servers, building attractive homes in the mountains and exploring the dark depths of The Nether. He also graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies and got his high school diploma from Wichita High School East.

Mike is survived by his mother, Frances Lee, his sister, Ann Marie Byers, his daughter, Kelsey Ann Parker, his son, Dillon Michael Lee, and his ex-wife Julie Kristine Lee. He loved his three grandchildren very much, named Leo, Regi, and Cael. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Lee in August of 2021.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25th, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm, at the Topeka Community of Christ at 5252 SW 19th Street in Topeka, Kansas.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25th, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, at the Topeka Community of Christ with Elder Paul Boman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Outward Bound, where teens and adults embark on a journey measured not just in miles of mountain, river, desert or ocean, but in pivotal personal growth. Mike attended three different journeys with them in his young life and attested that these were milestones of achievement that inspired him to move to Colorado, train as an ice and rock climber in Ouray Ice Park, work and ski at several resorts across the state, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime when he met his ex-wife Julie Lee in Frisco, Colorado.

To donate, please visit OutwardBound where you can select the option to donate "IN MEMORY OF: Alan "Mike" Lee."
