Alberta Herren

Alberta "Bert" Martin Herren, 64, of Topeka, passed way, Saturday, April 23, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

She was born August 25, 1940 in Bushong, KS the daughter of Herman W. and Virginia Rose Cooper Martin.

Bert had worked as a waitress all of her life. She was most recently employed at the Plaza Inn.

She was married to Dennis Herren. They later divorced. She was preceded in death by her sister Rose Edgar. Survivors include, one daughter, Shelia Snow, Topeka; two sons, Ray Herren, Topeka; Charles Herren, Paragould, Arkansas; five sisters, Nancy Kahn, Helen Bayless and Dorothy Cohagen all of Topeka; Margaret Henry, Columbus, OH, Blanche Lancaster, Riverside, CA; one brother, Jim Martin, Osage City, KS, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Herren will lie in state after 12:00 noon Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
