Alberta Hobson

Alberta Hobson, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at her home. She was born on August 10, 1924 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of Reverend George Johnson and her step-mother, Josephine. She was employed as a cook for Ramada Inn. She was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. Alberta married S.T. Hobson. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Survivors include one daughter, Mary L. Moore of Kansas City, KS, five grandchildren, Sharon, Jerry, Mitchell, Maurice, Albert and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery. Alberta will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
