Alex James Mckinsey

Alex James "AJ" McKinsey, 30, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born May 19, 1993 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Bridget McKinsey and James Conlon.

Alex attended Lawrence High School and found employment as a PIT operator at the Target Distribution Center.

Alex had a smile and laugh that would light up a room, socialized with anybody about anything, and if someone or himself needed a hype man, he was it. Alex found pride in being consistent in the gym to keep his body and mind healthy.

Survivors include his parents, Bridget McKinsey, Terri Sohl, his children, Camiryn Williams, Madilyn McKinsey, Norman McKinsey, Stella Basel-McKinsey, his significant other, Amanda Basel, his siblings, Austin McKinsey, Ashley Kaufman, Laura Gloeckner, Sarah Bloxsom, Toni Flint, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alex was preceded in death by his father, Glen Sohl and his uncle, Robert James.

A Celebration of Alex's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
