Alice A. Stoldt, 97, Topeka, passed away December 27, 2008, at home. Alice was born March 20, 1911 in rural Bancroft, KS, the daughter of Frank and Anna Erickson Johnson.
Alice grew up in rural Corning and graduated from Corning High School in 1928. She married Galen Stoldt the same year. They farmed many years in the Corning, Bancroft, and Goff areas. They moved from the farm in 1953 to Holton and then to Topeka in 1956. Alice worked for Sears many years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, and VFW Post 1650. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers. Survivors include; a son Bud (Donna) Stoldt, and a daughter, Wilma Ross, both of Topeka. Also surviving are three grand-children, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-child.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel with burial at Corning Cemetery. Mrs. Stoldt will lie in state after noon on Monday at the funeral home. No family visitation is planned.
