Alice Louise Hill, 90, of Auburn, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012.
She was born October 4, 1921 near Paxico, KS, the daughter of Joseph E. and Sylvia (Butefish) Stratton.
She was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary in Eskridge and a former member of the Auburn Social Hour Club.
Alice married Ellis Clark Hill on April 24, 1940 at Emporia, KS. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2003. Survivors include her children, Larry (Sandy) Hill, Eskridge, Marlene (Lloyd) Florence, Council Grove, Patricia (Lloyd) Warren, Auburn, Kevin (Sheila) Hill, Alta Vista; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Auburn Presbyterian Church, 1101 Washington St., Auburn, KS 66402. Interment will follow at the Eskridge Cemetery. Alice will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Auburn Presbyterian Church or Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd, Topeka, KS 66617.
