Alice Mae Tice was born to Lilian and George Broten in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She moved to Topeka at the age of 16. She married Roland Robbins in 1948 and had a daughter, Christine Louise Robbins, in 1950. Christine passed away at the age of 27.
In 1955, she married John (Jack) Tice, they were married for 56 years until his death in 2011. Together they had a son, John.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Crosby's and Rosie's Show-Off.
She loved Bingo and going to the Casino. She was a ferocious Scrabble player, an avid reader, and longtime bridge player. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years.
She is survived by her son John and his wife Deb, two grandchildren Ian and Lauren, and three great grandchildren James, Arianna, and Adeline, along with her two sisters, Jean Christenberry (Topeka, KS) and Jolene Paillette (Springfield, MO).
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, KS on Saturday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. A private celebration of life will take place at John and Deb's ranch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Midland Hospice House or the Kansas Democratic Party.
