Allan B. Layne, 84, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020.
He was born June 1, 1936, in Halls, Tennessee, the son of Amos Brady and Nannymae (Steelman) Layne. He graduated from Humboldt High School in Tennessee and then served in the Air Force.
Allan was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for 35 years before retiring. He was a member Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion and the V.F.W.
Allan married Sharon Jane Fruits in July 21, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 4, 2020.
Survivors include children, Shelly, Mike, Greg and Brandon, eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Carbondale Cemetery. Allan will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. Masks and social distancing must be observed.
