Allen E. Becker, 75, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born February 14, 1932 in Delevan, KS, the son of Edward and Addie Tull Becker. He graduated from Bushong Rural High School. Allen served in the Kansas National Guard. He then was inducted into the Army serving in the Korean War. After 13 years of employment with the Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, he joined the U.S. Postal Service in Topeka where he retired after 24 years as area maintenance technician. He was a member of Orient Lodge No. 51 AF&AM and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion. Allen married Helen L. Shellenberger on March 8, 1953 in Council Grove, KS. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Beverly Falley and her husband, Mike of Lawrence, two grandsons, Jeremy and Nicholas Totten, one great-granddaughter, Katy and one sister, Marjorie Brees of Chesapeake, Virginia. Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd. A memorial celebration will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where military honors will be presented by Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion and Masonic services will be presented by Orient Lodge No. 51 AF&AM.
