Allene M. Weide, 95, of Lawrence, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. She was born November 24, 1923 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Hiram R. and Dilla M. (Mulvaney) Ramsey.
Allene graduated from Russell High School in Russell, Kansas and attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She was employed by the League of Kansas Municipalities. She was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Allene married Donald E. Weide, Sr. on November 29, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Michelle (Hoover) Slavens on March 29, 2010 and her two brothers, Francis Ramsey and Maurice Ramsey.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Ellen Douglas) Weide of Tryon, North Carolina, Donald (Robin Warner) Weide, Jr. of Virginia, Sandra (Larry) Parks of Topeka, Malia (Jim) Barth of Georgetown, Texas, seven grandchildren, Erin (Michael), Barbara (David), Ben, Kay, Allison, Krissi, Nick, four great-grandchildren, Austen, Kyler, Gavin and Skye and her sister, Roberta Keil of Galatia, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Congregational Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604 or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
