Alreta H. Allen

Alreta H. Allen, 94, of Topeka, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at a Topeka hospital. She was born August 14, 1920 in Redland, OK, the daughter of Percy and Zelius Childers Elliott.

Alreta had resided in Independence, KS prior to moving to Topeka in 1977. She was employed at Day's Inn Motel and later for the Manor Nursing Home in Independence, KS. She was a member of Church of God in Christ in Independence.

Alreta married Arbra Allen in 1940. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her son, Floyd D. Allen on September 9, 2007. Survivors include their children, Hazel Owens of Topeka, Arzetta Gullick of Topeka, Clara Allen of Topeka, Arbra (Patty) Allen, Jr. of Wichita, Eva Dugan of Topeka, Verna (Melvin) Quarles of Topeka, John Allen of Topeka and Roberta (Ray) Hall of Topeka, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where she will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
