Alvin W. Bacon, 87, of Berryton, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born September 8, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Wendell and Amelia (Iwig) Bacon.
Alvin graduated from Highland Park High School in 1952. He was employed by Capital City Blue Print for 21 years. He later went to work for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Montara and Bacon's Home Repair and Remodeling. He was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church.
Alvin and his wife, Marjorie were community leaders for the Riverside 4-H Club for 23 years. They enjoyed many trips to Branson and woodworking. Later in his life, he enjoyed the Caribbean, Alaska and the Panama Canal cruises.
Alvin married Marjorie A. Reser on March 20, 1954 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2014. He was also preceded in death by brother, Leonard Bacon and sister, Rita Carothers.
Survivors include children, Joe (Shirley) Bacon, Debbie (Les) Sharrai, Tom (Carla) Bacon and Kenny (Debra) Bacon, six grandsons, Andy, Scott, Tim, Brenton, David and Ben, one granddaughter, Ashley and fourteen great-grandchildren and his brother, Delmar Bacon.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 at Bethel Cemetery southeast of Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
