Anna Kapelle

Anna M. "Ann" Kapelle, 87, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, February 20, 2010.

Ann was born December 30, 1922 in Overbrook, KS the daughter of Joe and Jennie Collins. She was a graduate of Overbrook Rural High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College and Baker University.

She was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and USD 501. Ann was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

She married Edward Kapelle February 14, 1947 in Baldwin, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Jane (John) Stonebraker, Judy (Dave) Sorrell, Joni (Steve) Atherly; two sisters, Dee (Max) Friesen, Jan (Jon) Isch; one brother, Jim (Kay) Collins; her grandchildren, Jamie, Daniel, Matthew, Andrew, Shelley, Stacey, Jeffrey and 7 great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her son Dan Kapelle and her brother Dr. Robert Collins.

Ann will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Overbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to Highland Park United Methodist Church or Heart of America Hospice.
