Anna Leigh Melton, 89, of Topeka, died Wednesday, December 16th, 2009. She was born on January 22nd 1920 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Earle and Garnett Robertson.
Throughout her life she resided in Bolivar, MO, Springfield, MO and Emporia, KS. She spent the last 28 years of her life in Topeka, KS.
She graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Business and Public Administration, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity.
She was a member of AJ Chapter of PEO, Topeka Alumnae Chapter of Delta Gamma, and First Christian Church of Topeka.
She married Winton D. Melton on June 21st, 1941 in Bolivar, MO. He preceded her in death in 1982. Anna Leigh is survived by her daughter Judy Kimes (Terry), her son Robert Melton (Gale); four grandchildren, Leigh Ann Kimes, Carrie Kimes, Dawn Melton, and Robby Melton; and two great-granddaughters, Destiny and Haley Garcia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
