Anna Tipton

Anna B. Tipton, 92, of Topeka, died peacefully in her sleep at her home Thursday, October 18, 2007.

She was born April 10, 1915 in the Little Russia area of Topeka the daughter of George and Katherine (Fogelman) Schaefer.

Mrs. Tipton was an active member of Oakland Christian Church.

Anna married Ware A. Tipton September 19, 1938. He preceded her in death June 10, 2002. Survivors include her two sons, George and his wife Carole Tipton, Topeka; Alan Tipton, Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Julie Tipton, Topeka; and Doug Tipton, Sevierville, TN; Kristen and Jeremy Tipton both of Phoenix; and one great grandchild, the light of her life, 20 month old Megan Weis. She was lovingly called "Grandma Anna" by Tye Shields, Alex Shields, Brady Cowan, Joe Shields, and Danny Shields.

Mrs. Tipton will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m.Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Penwell-GabelCemetery.
