Anthony Jordan

January 12, 1966 — April 25, 2023

Anthony Thomas Jordan, 57, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

He was born January 12, 1966, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Ernest and Patricia Jordan. In high school, Anthony enjoyed playing football. In his senior year, he was crowned Homecoming King. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1984 and attended Emporia State University after.

Anthony's love for football continued with his avid love for the Raiders, watching the games every Sunday with his boys. It grew even further when he could coach his sons, Kobe and Kaden, and their respective football teams. Once they entered middle and high school, he didn't stop there as he attended every single one of their games and even practices. Although football was not the only sport he loved, he was also a big fan of the Lakers and the Kansas University basketball team.

Being a father was something that came naturally to him. He was the best father anyone could ever ask for. He raised his sons flawlessly, and there wasn't a thing he could have done better. He instilled manners and diligence into them. They made sure they took care of things in the classroom and never went back on any commitments. He made sure they were always happy and checked up on them relentlessly. He was at every event they participated in, ensuring they never felt alone. They were his light, and he was theirs. He enjoyed his sons tremendously, and his family meant the world to him. Anthony was not a shy person; he had a huge personality that would capture you from the first instance. He walked into the room and would beam with his bright smile and unique laugh.

He was intelligent and could always make you laugh with his witty sarcasm. He enjoyed cooking–and baking from time to time–and would teach himself how to make anything he wanted, no matter the difficulty. Some of the favorites were his fried chicken, which is famous around his community, and biscuits and gravy every Sunday morning. You would find him at work when he wasn't spending time with family or cooking. He was incredibly hard-working, and when he set his mind on something, no one could stop him from accomplishing that goal. You could never say he didn't give 110%. Anthony worked for the Topeka Fire Department, Station #1, for many years. Where in a short amount of time, he was able to work up to the role of investigator, and he held that title with pride.

He is survived by his sons, Kobe and Kaden Jordan, and their mother, Liza Hoffman; mom, Patricia Jordan; siblings, Rodney (Karla) Jordan, Tyrone Jackson, Georginia (Vernon) Chaney, Jermane Jackson, Ashley Jackson, and Andre Jackson and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Jackson, Jr., and sister, Shronda Jackson.
