Ardyce Avonelle Henkensiefken, 85, of Topeka, passed away, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Midland Hospice Care.
She was born July 7, 1924 in McClellan, IL the daughter of Roy and Eithel Wilson the second of nine children.
She was married in Dix, IL August 23, 1944 to Clyde Henry Henkensiefken. They shared 56 years before he preceded her in death September 28, 2000. She lived in the Highland Park area and moved to the Topeka Community Center in 2007.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at the Senate Cafeteria and Maynard's.
Survivors include her children, Gayla Fields, Boise, ID; Cheryl Hastings, Carbondale, KS; Robert Henkensiefken and his wife Kathy, Berryton, KS; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday October 26, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near 89th and Ratner Road.
