Arlene L. Slayter, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born November 15, 1942 in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of William and Florence (Dahlstrom) Lignitz.
Arlene graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960. She was employed by K-Mart and Jostens Yearbook Company before retiring.
Arlene married James A. Slayter, Jr. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2014. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Warner.
Survivors include children, Steve (Keri) Herrick, Randy Herrick, Russell Herrick, Scott (Jessica) Herrick and Jim Warner, twelve grandchildren, her sister, Dee Ann Pierson and her brother, Ed Lignitz.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 on the Garden Chapel at Topeka Cemetery.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
