Arnold O. Steuber, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Clare Bridge.
Arnold was born January 21, 1926 in LeRoy, the son of Emil and Anna Steuber. He attended school in rural LeRoy and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He owned and operated A.O. Steuber Construction Company for 35 years and constructed bridges throughout Kansas.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Kansas Contractors Association where he had served on their board.
Arnold married Jolene "Jody" Folk on December 14, 1956. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2005. Survivors include children; Pam (Mike) Duncan, Terry (Mary) Steuber, Liz (Rob) Ginder, Jenny (Troy) Heinen, Darren (Julie) Steuber; ten grandchildren; and sister, Louise Becker. Additional survivors include step-daughter; Adena Statzer; 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Steuber; and sister, Ruby Sullivant.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Arnold will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road and the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
