Ashly DeAnn Bracken, 21, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Cass County, Nebraska along with her best friend, Tatiyana Wade-Esquibel as well as her two nieces, Keniah Robinson and Malaysia Reece-Johnson. She was born July 4, 1999 in Topeka, the daughter of Scott Bracken and April Cohagen.
Ashly graduated from Highland Park High School in 2017. She was employed by KNI. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Amarion and Sentrez as well as an amazing daughter, sister and friend. Ashly devoted her life to her family. She would light up any room with her outgoing personality and her laugh was contagious. She loved shopping and owned more shoes and purses than most. Ashly hoped to one day create her own mascara line. Her favorite color was pink.
Survivors include her two sons, Amarion Jacquez McMillon, Sentrez Tayvohn Maurice Buckley, Jr. and her boyfriend, Sentrez Buckley, Sr., parents, Scott Bracken of Topeka, April Cohagen of Topeka, two siblings, Tabitha Bracken and Joshua Bracken, her paternal grandparents, Cindy Rakestraw, David Bracken, her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Cohagen, four uncles, Jack, Paul, Dallas and Jay, her aunts, Cynthia and Angie and several cousins.
Ashly is preceded in death by her grandfather, Clyde Cohagen, her aunt, Angela Cohagen and her uncle, Matthew Henderson.
A closed casket in state period for Ashly will be from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Masks and social distancing must be observed. To honor Ashly, the family requests that you wear pink. Burial will take place in Topeka Cemetery. A public Celebration of Ashly's life will be announced at a later date.
