Aveta Mae (Wilson) Lewis, 78, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at her home. She was born January 13, 1937 in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Roland and Elva Gertrude (Elliott) Wilson.
She was employed for 24 years at Security Benefit Life Insurance Company before her retirement. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching nature shows and listening to the music channel. One of her favorite songs was "The Old Rugged Cross."
Aveta is survived by her three sons: Loren Boyd (Ginger), Robert Eugene (Karen) and Thomas Duane (Dee) , all of Topeka; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Geraldine Rae, Monte James, Sharon Lou and Shirley Jean.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1:00PM at Penwell Gabel Cemetery. Inurnment will be in the Wall of Memory. To leave a message for the family visit the guestbook below.
