Avis May Campbell, 92, of Topeka (formerly of Wichita), passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.
She was born July 13, 1929, in Caney, Kansas, the daughter of Fred C. and Ida May (McFarland) Hipchen.
Avis was employed by AT and T for 35 years and retired in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church of Wichita.
She was married to Jack Campbell who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Sullivan (Curt) of Topeka and Jeffrey Wright (Lynette) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Norma Olson and brothers Robert and Ernie Hipchen.
Avis enjoyed playing cornhole, pool, golf, and exercise classes at McCrite Plaza. She was dedicated to her church.
Avis was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 29th, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, 1600 W 27th Street N, Wichita, KS 67204. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Wichita.
