Barbara Ann (Cain) Bargewell, 73, of Topeka, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at her home.
She was born February 21, 1938 in Baltimore, MA, the daughter of Marion and Florence (Hillers) Cain. She was a graduate of The Catholic High School of Baltimore, Maryland.
She retired from Hill's Pet Nutrition in Topeka after 23 years of service.
She was an avid cat lover and supported the Humane Society of America. She was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and NASCAR Racing.
Barbara married Gerald Eugene Bargewell in 1958. They divorced in 1977. Survivors include a son, Butch Bargewell of the home; a daughter, Kathleen (Gregg) Morgan, Topeka; 3 grandchildren, Lucas Mentzer, Meggie (Ben) Swanson and Tyler Morgan; 4 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Dusty, Jr., Shelby and Skyler; and a sister, Marian Cain, Topeka.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd, Topeka, KS 66617 or to the Cat Association, 1719 SW Gage, Topeka, KS 66604.
