Barbara Beauchamp, 71, Topeka, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Midland Hospice House.

Barbara was born December 13, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Garfield W. and Beulah (Abbott) Berndt. She graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont, NE., and received her Bachelor's degree from Midland College in Fremont.

She was employed in a variety of ways in her lifetime; from over the road trucking to office management; teaching at Southwest Missouri State University; A.T. & T. as a Customer Service Representative, and later at Stitchin & Traditions in Brookwood Shopping Center.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Grapevine Quilters Guild. She had a passion for quilting. She was an avid reader and member of 2 book clubs.

Barbara married George Nolte in August, 2009. He survives. Other survivors include sons, JimBob (Melisa) Beauchamp, Mayetta, KS; Aaron Beauchamp, Topeka; daughter, Darcie Beauchamp Schusster, Cape Canaveral, FL; grandchildren, Samantha, Anika, Junior and William Beauchamp, Gavin and Connor Lembach, Tyler Stookesberry and Zachary Schusster; siblings, Smoky, Buck, Mike, Jim, Betty and Tygar; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James C. Beauchamp; and niece, Courtney Berndt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
