Barbara Gail Gilfillan, 85, of Topeka, passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday, August 25, 2024.
She was born August 9, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Lawrence and Nina (Sims) Anderson. She received her GED in the 70’s.
Barb married Roy Dean Gilfillan on August 12, 1956 in Topeka, the best day of their lives. He survives.
Survivors include sons, Steve (Marti) Gilfillan and Randy (Denise) Gilfillan, daughters, Lori (Keith) Huffman, Kim (Brad) McCune, and Regina (David) Norton, over 60 grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandson, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Larry and Terry Anderson and sister, Karen Brown.
Barb loved her family and always enjoyed spending time together, after the teenage years of the children of course. She was an avid reader, was lucky at the casino, enjoyed crocheting, shopping, swimming, collecting snowmen, riding in the car, and being the best backseat driver. She was also very artistic and had many drawings.
Barb’s wishes were for cremation. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
