Barbara H. Seitz, 78, Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Midland Hospice House.
Barbara was born November 20, 1935 in Blackburn, MO, the daughter of John H. and Viola (Kobs) Heins. She graduated from Alma High School in Alma, MO.
She was employed as a Paraprofessional with Topeka Public Schools for 17 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Price of Peace Lutheran Church where she was instrumental in creating and developing the Christian banners hanging in the sanctuary of the church.
Her hobbies included dancing, playing cards and dominos. She also had the gift of gab and hospitality.
Barbara married Rodney Seitz on May 15, 1955 in Blackburn, MO. He survives. Other survivors include son, Warren (Tracy) Seitz, Seneca; daughters, Rhonda (Ted) Artzer, Tecumseh, Colette (Lance) Murphy, Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Tegan Seitz, Breanna Seitz, Tobias Cowdin, Tychicus Cowdin, Alexis Murphy, Sydnei Murphy, Leea Murphy; and great-grandson, Jayden Seitz. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
