Barbara Jeanne Martinson Edds, Topeka, Kansas, passed peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Barbara derived a great deal of joy reading pioneer history, working crossword puzzles, and presenting quilting programs in and around the Topeka area. She and her husband, Clyde "Buddy" Edds, were married on March 5, 1943, at her parents' home in Topeka. Clyde preceded her in death on March 12, 2005. They had been married 62 years.
Survivors include her sister and brother, Madeleine Martinson and David Martinson (Virginia), both of Topeka, her daughters, Nancy Saylor (Dr. Mark) of Topeka and Linda Dawson of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and her son, Dr. Breck Edds (Lynn) of Topeka. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, her beloved grandchildren, Jodi Rae Dawson Tilbury (Michael) and Evan Ward Dawson, and her two great-grandchildren, Austin and Brooke Tilbury.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, on Thursday, July 24, 2014. A graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014.
