Barbara Ann Martinez

Barbara Martinez, 76, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020.

She was born Barbara Ann Buck on August 16, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of John and Melba (Burch) Buck. She attended Roosevelt High School.

Barbara was a housewife.

Barbara was married to Thomas B. Martinez in Topeka. Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Chris) Hamilton of Topeka, John (Jeanne) Sandella of Nashville, Tennessee, Thomas J. Martinez of Topeka, and Daniel J. Martinez of Topeka; siblings Donna Wagster Eufinger of St. Louis and John Buck (Brenda) of San Diego, California; grandchildren Tricia Elder, Cody (Casey) Shipps, Megan Sandella, Troy Sandella, Zackary Martinez, Dallas Martinez, Ray Haskett and Alec Martinez; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her ex-husband, Thomas B. Martinez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters Nancy A. and Greta L. Martinez; and her sisters Jacqueline Buck, Diana Stroup and Linda Buck.

Barbara loved cooking, listening to Elvis and oldies music and a large cup of tea was never far away. She loved the Saint Louis Cardinals and the spirit of the city of Saint Louis.

Barbara was cremated. A memorial service will be held at Dove Cremations and Funerals - Southwest Chapel at 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a visitation half an hour before the service. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 801 SW Westchester Road in Topeka at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14th, 2021. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Health Center, 440 SE Woodland Ave, Topeka, KS 66607.
