Barbara N. Waters, 78, of Tecumseh, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was born March 23, 1940 in Bladenboro, North Carolina, the daughter of Willie and Ruth (Britt) Haywood
.
Barbara was employed at Chick-A Dee Cafe. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Barbara married James G. Waters, Sr. on December 12, 1964 in South Carolina. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother; Gene Haywood and her sister-in-law; Linda Haywood.
Survivors include their children; Joann (the late Tom Wunder), Sam Waters, Jimmy Waters, Jr. and Danielle (Jason) Owens all of Topeka, one grandson; Jimmy Waters, III, two great-grandsons; Jace and Jarin Owens and her six nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Barbara will lie in state from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66616.
