Barbara J. Wildrix, 99, of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Brewster Place in Topeka. She was born April 5, 1923 in Phillips County, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Helene (Zimmerman) Preuss.
Barbara graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She was a secretary for various offices. She had previously resided in Oskaloosa and Wichita, among other places, before moving to Topeka.
Barbara married Clyde E. Wildrix on April 14, 1945 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, John Waller and her siblings, Alwena Fenske, Emma Gackstatter, Leonard Preuss and Louise Mierau.
Survivors include children, Betty (Bruce) Waller of Tecumseh and Robert Wildrix of Lawrence, one grand-daughter, Laura Atkinson and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Annika.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Benevolent Care Fund at Brewster Place, 1205 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66611.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
