Barry Beagle

July 21, 1923 — December 30, 2014

Barry Beagle, 91, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014.

He was born July 23, 1923, in Alliance, Nebraska, the son of Perce and Nellie (Tellander) Beagle. He graduated from Alliance High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Creighton University. Barry proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, Asiatic Pacific Theatre, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.

Barry was the treasurer for Hills Pet Products for 27 years, retiring March 28, 1986.

Mr. Beagle was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and American Legion Capitol Post No. 1.

On November 25, 1955, he married Bonnye Jo Witter in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Barry (Karen) Beagle and two grandchildren, Aaron (Sarah) Beagle and Emma Beagle. He was preceded in death by five siblings.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
