Basil "Dutch" Krug, 86, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Midland Hospice House. He was born in Bazine, Kansas on October 11, 1928 the son of Alex and Mollie Krug. After his mother's passing, he was raised from the age of 1 ½ years by his grandparents George and Mary Krug. He married Sheila Brien on September 8, 1954 at Plentywood, Montana. Sheila survives.
Dutch is also survived by his three children, Joey (Judy) Krug, Mark Krug, and Susan (Harold) Roberts; grandchildren, Brad, Raegan, Zach, Ashley, and Max; great-grandchildren, Kaemyn, Kellam, Koen, Brendan, Payton, Jaxon, Malakai, Jesse, Kaleb, and Lucas; and his sisters Marge (Tom) Coates and Arlene Weiler. He was preceded in death by his brother Merle Krug and his great-grandson Zane Krug.
Dutch was the owner/operator of Dutch's Heating and Cooling for 45 years. He enjoyed bowling, poker and car races. He was a member of Grantville United Methodist Church.

A celebration of Dutch's life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grantville United Methodist Church, 3724 South St., Grantville, KS 66429.
