Beatrice Patterson

Beatrice "B.B." Opene Patterson, 53, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka. She was born on January 29, 1956 in Topeka, the daughter of Charlie McCray, Jr. and Dolores Harris. She graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed by Josten's Yearbook Company for over 30 years. B.B. married Floyd Patterson in 1977 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her father, Charlie McCray, Jr., and her step-mother, Joyce of Topeka and her mother, Dolores Harris of Topeka, two sons, DeAndre Anderson and Ryan Patterson, both of Topeka, one daughter, Latrina Patterson of Topeka, seven grandchildren, her siblings, Charlie III, Felton, Jayson, Joseph H., Joseph M., Warren, Barbara, Catheleen, Gladys, Joyce, Lynette and Wynetta and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Brady Harris and one sister, Sheila McCray Davis. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Church Of God In Christ, 614 SE California Ave. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. B.B. will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Arthritis Foundation, 1994 N.
