Bertha May "Bert" Christian, 63, of Topeka, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at her residence. She was born on April 10, 1941 in Pratt County, Ks., the daughter of William Fred and Edna May Hanning Berg. She moved to Topeka in 1960. She was employed by Wal-Mart Stores for the past 17 years where she managed several different departments. She was also a professional cake decorator for the past 25 years. She was active in church work. She married Chris Christian on April 10, 1998 in Oskaloosa. He survives. Other survivors include four children, Anita Limbocker of Rogers, Arkansas, Vence, Donald and Edna Purdum all of Topeka, 32 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her husband, Chris children, Brenda Clark, Bonita Weigel, Belinda Christian, Bret Christian, Barta Fobair, Sonya Cefalu, Bart Christian, Bob Foster, Barbra Mullen, Brandi Gillaspie, Brianna Galbraith, Troy Foster and her brother, Bill Berg of Exeter, Mo, Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Christian will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
