Betty A. Purdy

Betty A. Purdy's journey on earth ended on December 18th, 2005. Betty was born on January 31, 1931 in Waverly and was married to Ted for 49 wonderful years. Her memories will be cherished by sister, Dorothy Fields, brother, Darrel Hunt, children, Cindy Boyles, Sandy Kendall, T.J. Purdy, II, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Betty graduated from Highland Park High School and was active in the Highland Park community. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, Highland Park Central Elementary School or the organization of the donor's choice.
