Betty Cope Portman; wife, mom, and grandmother left this world on July 21 at 98 years old. Betty was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1915 and lived her years in Salina, Great Bend, and Topeka.
She had a wonderful marriage and a loving family. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, playing bridge, being with family, music, sewing, gardening, laughing, and kidding people. She had a wonderful sense of humor that kept her young at heart.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brother, and a devoted husband, Bus Portman at the age of 94 in 2006. She is survived by her son, Charles Portman (Gina) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and grandchildren, Andy, David, and Geoff Portman (Danielle); and her daughter, Kathy Portman of Overland Park, Kansas.
