Betty Jane Jones, 93, Topeka, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at Manor Care Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1915 in Valley Falls, the daughter of Frank and Katie May Mott Sellers, and had lived in Topeka most of her life.
She married Cheston Scott Sewell. They were divorced. She married Albert Jones on Sept. 29, 1952 in Valley Falls. He died June 3, 1977. She was also preceded in death by three sons, James Albert Jones, Albert James Jones, and Clifford Sewell, and three daughters, Rose Marie Brown, Shirley May Johnson and Mayberta McGuire.
Survivors include three daughters, Berdean J. Stroh of Topeka, Agnes L. Patterson of Athens, TX, and June F. Rhoads of Topeka; a sister, Minnie Chinn of Lawrence; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones will lie in state from 9 am to 4 pm Thursday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
